The competition

The Narrathon is a multi-disciplined event involving a ski paddle on Narrabeen lake, beach run, ocean swim and ocean board paddle. The event can be completed by single competitors or as a team of up to four people and is open to Surf Life Saving members and the general public. The Narrathon can be won by any individual competitor using SLSA spec equipment only.

While there are prizes for the winners, the focus of the event is on participation and all abilities are welcome.

The Narrathon is organized and run by Narrabeen Beach Surf Life Saving Club and proceeds from the event go to the club.

Course Distances

Ski leg 8 km
Beach run 3 km
Ocean swim 1 km
Board paddle 2.5 km

Course Description

The ski leg starts from Berry Reserve on Narrabeen lake and is an 8km paddle which finishes at the reserve by the Ocean Street bridge. Competitors run around the sand dunes at North Narrabeen and head south to South Narrabeen before swimming a 1 km course back to Narrabeen Beach. At Narrabeen Beach competitors swap to their boards and complete the final leg, a 2.5km board paddle.
